It sounds like you’re using Bank Social with a Secura tag and trying to buy Hedera (HBAR), but the app gets stuck on “scanning in progress.” That usually means the phone isn’t successfully reading the NFC signal from your Secura tag — even though it shows as “active.”
Here’s how to troubleshoot it step-by-step:
1.Make sure NFC is actually on
On iPhone:
iPhone XS/XR or newer → NFC is automatic, but you must keep the top edge of the phone directly on the tag.
On Android:
Go to Settings → Connections → NFC and confirm it’s enabled.
2. Position matters (very important)
Hold the top back of your phone directly against the tag.
Keep it completely still for 10–20 seconds.
Remove thick cases or MagSafe wallets (they often block NFC).
3. Close and reopen the Bank Social app
Force close it completely, then reopen and try again.
4. Restart your phone
This refreshes the NFC reader.
5. Check for app updates
Go to the App Store / Play Store and make sure Bank Social is fully updated.
6. Try a different environment
Metal surfaces, laptops, or other electronics nearby can interfere with NFC. Try scanning away from them.
If it still says “scanning in progress”
That usually means one of these:
The tag isn’t being detected at all (hardware/NFC issue)
The tag was previously paired and needs to be re-synced
There’s a firmware/app mismatch
Why does this happen?
Check to make sure your Bluetooth is turned on in both "general" and at the app level
Navigate to the settings section in your phone. Make sure bluetooth is turned "on". Next, navigate to the BankSocial app in settings, and make sure that bluetooth connectivity is turned "on" as well at the app level.
Why it matters
The Secura acts as a hardware authorization key.
If it’s de-recognized incorrectly, the app can’t verify your transaction — so it just keeps scanning.
Typically one of these resolves it:
Fully log out of the app and log back in
Remove the Secura from the app (if possible) and re-pair it
Clear app cache (Android) or reinstall the app
Contact BankSocial support to manually reset the device association on their end
