Backing up your secret phrase (also called a seed phrase or recovery phrase) is the most important step in securing your crypto wallet. Your secret phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to your device.
Step 1: Access the Backup Section
Open your wallet app and navigate to Settings. Locate the section labeled Backup Keys, Secret Phrase, or Recovery Phrase.
Make sure you are in a private and secure location before viewing your secret phrase.
Step 2: Write Down Your Secret Phrase
Carefully write your secret phrase down by hand on paper:
Double-check the spelling of each word
Confirm the correct order of the words
Ensure all words are included (typically 12 or 24)
Step 3: Store Your Backup Securely
For maximum security:
Do not take screenshots
Do not save photos, notes, or files on your phone or computer
Do not upload your secret phrase to cloud storage or email
Instead, store your written backup:
In a safe deposit box
In a locked safe at home
In another secure, offline physical location
