Troubleshooting Failed Seed Phrase Imports

Issues with Seed Phrase

If your wallet does not import successfully, review the following common issues:

1. Incorrect Word Order

Seed phrases are order-sensitive. Even one word out of place will cause the import to fail.

Fix:

Re-enter the phrase carefully, starting from word one through the final word.

2. Misspelled or Invalid Words

Seed phrases use a standardized word list. A single typo will prevent recovery.

Fix:

Double-check spelling and remove any extra characters or spaces.

3. Missing or Extra Words

Most wallets use 12 or 24 words. Adding or omitting a word will invalidate the phrase.

Fix:

Verify the phrase length matches your original wallet’s format.

4. Unsupported Wallet Standard

Some wallets may use derivation paths or standards that are not yet supported.

Fix:

Confirm your original wallet is compatible (e.g., Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet). If unsure, contact BankSocial Support with the name of the original wallet.

5. Network or App Issues

Temporary connectivity issues or outdated app versions can interfere with imports.

Fix:

  • Ensure you are connected to the internet

  • Update the BankSocial Wallet app to the latest version

  • Restart the app and try again

6. Assets Not Visible After Import

Your wallet may import successfully, but balances may not appear immediately.

Fix:

  • Ensure the correct network is selected

  • Allow time for balances to sync

  • Refresh the dashboard

⚠️ Security Reminder

Your seed phrase is the master key to your digital assets.

  • Never share it with anyone

  • BankSocial will never ask for your seed phrase

  • Anyone with access to your seed phrase has full control of your wallet

If you believe your seed phrase has been compromised, move your assets immediately to a new wallet with a new seed phrase.
